Welcome to Loddon Community Energy

Loddon Community Energy has been set up by local volunteers to make energy across the Loddon Valley more sustainable.

We are a Community Benefit Society – a type of not-for-profit co-operative designed to benefit the wider community.

We develop community energy projects that produce renewable energy and also help local residents to make their homes more energy efficient.

We raise money by selling community shares and use the money to install solar systems on commercial building roofs (not domestic roofs or open fields).  We sell the electricity generated to the building occupier at a price lower than usual commercial rates.

Any surplus that we make is used to fund local energy advice projects, such as Bramley Greener Homes – or fund more community energy projects.

So everybody wins – we create more renewable energy, local businesses get cheap electricity and local people get help to make their homes more energy efficient.

We’re always looking for more volunteers to get involved – so do get in touch here if you’re interested in helping us.
